In an effort to make the AR.Drone 2.0 more user-friendly than its predecessor, Parrot developed something called the Absolute Control Mode.
Absolute Control Mode means that drone will go in whatever direction the pilot “pushes the controller” (tilts their smart phone). This differs from the original as it means the AR.Drone’s flight path is relative the pilot, not to the device itself.
Many of you might think Absolute Control Mode isn’t that significant – I mean, even a three year old could fly the original – but the following video might change your mind:
Whilst it was obvious that Absolute Control Mode would help first time users of the AR.Drone, we are now starting to see how it can also be used by advanced pilots to execute some really complex manoeuvres.
