This video shows the Parrot AR.Drone following a green ball using its front-facing video camera and a navigation program written in Python. The video was made in the Science Center at Washington & Lee University by Professors Joshua Stough (pictured) and Simon D. Levy (pictured in inset). The tracking program was written entirely in Python, using the free / open-source AR.Drone AutoPylot package ( home.wlu.edu ) with the free/open-source OpenCV library for Python. The inset video was taken from the AR.Drone’s camera and is not perfectly synchronized with the main video.
